GWU – Youths

In August 1944, just under a year after the foundation of the GWU, a rally was organised for the Young workers it was on this day the Young workers association Youths was formed. The first executive of this association met in 1945. Nowadays this branch is known as the GWU Youths. This branch is a non-profitable organisation, it works to spread knowledge about trade unionism to the younger generation. GWU members under the age of 35 are automatically members of the GWU Youths.
This section participates in National and international affairs regarding youths in society. In Malta, the-GWU Youths Forms part of-the National Council for Youth (CAN) and Internationally on-the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
